The Curiosity Guides To How Long Has It Been? (2020)
How many years ago do you think the first "gender reveal" party was? When did Daylight Savings Time start? When was the last time the minimum wage in America went up? (as of 2020)
You'll probably be surprised to find out the answers to these questions and several more including the food pyramid, gender segregated washrooms, standard human body temperature, the birth of the internet, and more! The COVID19 global pandemic has messed up all of our senses of time, this will help you fix that (a little bit!) Download PDF | 60 Pages |
The Curiosity Guide to Massive Natural Disasters (2018)
Most of us are pretty aware of the impending threat and potential casualties of human-made disasters like a World War or dropping a Nuclear bomb on a highly populated area, but mother nature packs a far more devastating punch and can deliver it without blinking an eye.
This guide looks at seven scenarios (that humans won't have any direct role in causing) including Supervolcanoes, Mega tsunamis, a massive asteroid strike, Global Viral Pandemic, and more. You'll learn about these impending threats and how scientists are preparing to deal with them. Download PDF | 65 Pages |
The Curiosity Guide to LGBTQ+ Identities, Terminology, and Flags (2018)
It's 2018, LGBTQ+ rights and issues have reached new levels of public awareness, but many people still struggle with the terminology, the flags, and more. Also includes an LGBTQ "Important Dates" Calendar featuring international awareness days, weeks, and months.

The Curiosity Guide to Media Literacy and Social Manipulation Tactics (2016)
This guide was written well before Donald Trump was elected, and its contents are more important than ever as governments both in North America and internationally make a shift heavily rightward and take steps to weaken the media that is tasked with trying to hold them accountable. This guide features 4 main sections - Superstitions and Phobias, Logical Fallacies, Social Manipulation Tactics, and being literate to bias in the media (and yourself).
Anyone can be susceptible to these things, whether Liberal, Conservative, Centrist, or other. Download PDF | 139 Pages |
The Curiosity Guide to Distinctions (2016)
In a similar vein to the Media Literacy guide, this guide features distinctions between many terms and concepts that people often confuse with each other. Things such as weather vs climate, guilt vs shame, evidence vs proof, ethnicity vs race, and more.
This guide will be updated and expanded periodically. Download PDF | 26 Pages |
The Curiosity Guide to Learning to Code For Beginners (2015)
This guide was the very first in the series and was compiled from a combination of my past experiences with programming in high school and college, as well as filling in a lot of other information from online sources like reddit, stack exchange, and more.
This guide does not itself teach you how to code, but rather, it helps you choose what programming language you want to learn, and then find the applicable resources to begin learning, and find places to talk to others to help you along your way. Download PDF | 25 Pages |
The Curiosity Guide to Learning Japanese For Beginners (2015)
In 2015 I began to self study Japanese. I was not able to continue my study beyond the beginner phase due to life circumstances, however I compiled this guide in essence as the guide that I wish had existed before I even started. Many regard Japanese as one of the most difficult languages to learn, but it doesn't have to be. There are a lot of tips and tricks that can make learning it much easier. Brute force and rote memory are not ideal at all.
So if you are considering, or just getting started in learning Japanese, this may be the guide for you. Note: I have not had the chance to update this guide since it was first written in 2015. It has come to my attention that Japanese has since been added to Duolingo, this is why it is not mentioned in the guide (yet). Also note: I submitted a pre-final version of this guide to Benny at Fluent in 3 Months and as a result I was hired as a freelance language resource curator by FI3M and worked there for a year. The Curiosity Guide to Heavy Metal Music and Culture (2015)
I am a lifelong fan of heavy metal music. I understand and recognize that heavy metal is very much an "acquired taste" for many, but I also believe there is a lot here to be appreciated, and I wrote this guide in hopes of helping with that.
This guide explains some of metal's styles and subgenres, looks at the nerdier and sillier side of the culture, and includes lots of recommendations for people who just can't handle growling/screaming vocals but might otherwise like heavier music. Download PDF | 55 Pages |
1,000+ Curated Quotes on Life, Love, Leadership, Happiness, and More (2015)
For years I had been collecting insightful quotes and eventually realized it would be great to have them all organized and sorted by topic in one place, not just on my hard drive, but publicly accessible. And so this collection was born.
Updated periodically. Download PDF | 107 Pages |
The Art of Hockey: A Fandom in Four Parts (2016)
Another fan-project guide to try and help more people appreciation a side of something they might not have considered before. This guide focuses on ice hockey goaltenders.

The Curiosity Guide to Restoring Your Faith In Humanity (2016)
This guide is primarily a collection of images and screen captures of examples and situations through long past as well as more recent history. It was put together for use on "bad days", days when the world just feels like it is truly going to hell in a hand basket and one needs a reminder that there are always good, honest, kind people out there.
These days, with the news being almost constantly bad, this collection is a good thing to have handy. Download PDF | 54 Pages |
